Extra Virgin Alliance - The Olive Oils
Eminems Olive Oil Company
Oro di Milas is a unique EVOO made from the cultivar, Memecik, an olive variety found nowhere else in the olive growing regions. The area of Türkiye where Memecik olive trees are found has received an EU PDO designation (Product Designation of Origin). The Milas region of Türkiye is rich in cultural and historical areas of interest. There are numerous Roman sites nearby, Ephesus being the most famous. An ancient kingdom, Carias, was founded in Milas and the burial tomb of its most famous ruler, Hecatomnus is part of an amazing archeological museum in the center of the city.
Eminems Olive Oil Co., the maker of Oro di Milas was founded in 2020 by Emine and Mark Colin. They are committed to the idea that the culinary and cultural aspects of Türkiye need to be shared and are excited about making a splash in the USA. Oro di Milas EVOO is harvested between October and November, using plastic crates, milled within 8 hours of harvest, cold extracted in a Mori Tem milling system, and stored in stainless steel tanks with inert gas to avoid oxidation.
